There is always a player drafted outside of the top 5 who suprises everyone. Even on draft night (for those who like me watched the entire draft) this kid going at 10 was somewhat of a suprise. Honestly who could have known. Yes, Jennings went to Europe to play ball; but, he sat the bench on a team playing at the highest level of Euroleague ball, so he did not really have a strong resume when he came back home.There is always a player drafted outside of the top 5 who suprises everyone. I haven't been one to criticize the staff here on the Q. I honestly think you guys (gals) do a great job but this 10 "respects" thing is buffalo chips. I should be able to tell other users that I like what they posted freely. I also should be able to express discontent with some of the simpleminded (racist, sexist, prejudiced, or just plain irrational) comments that other member post in certain forums. Bring back the "funny's", "smarts" etc. That is part of what made the Q the Q!I haven't been one to criticize the staff here on the Q. "what we've known for years" ...is probably all that needs to be said. Glen Taylor didn't want to shell out anymore big contracts for a losing team. This isn't even news worthy. Small market blah blah blah, in basketball really isn't even an issue; especially with the way the NBA 'CBA' (collective bargaining agreement) is structured. This is not baseball with unlimited spending. The Clippers are still in Los Angeles if I remember correctly and the Knicks are still in New York but both of these "big market teams" are perennial doormats."what we've known for years" ...is probably all that needs to be said. What in this article suggest that the city of Cleveland is a "holding pen" for "Thugs and Losers?" Beyond that what is wrong with star athletes who have faced adversity speaking with this kid and trying to help him through it.
