Hi, I am a 17 year old aspiring Journalist from a city called Wolverhampton located in the centre of England. Since a very young age I have been a sports fanatic - watching my local soccer side, Wolverhampton Wanderers, on a weekly basis since age five and attending various sports events with my family throughout my childhood. Despite American Football very much being a minority sport over here, I fell in love with the NFL at the age of 12 having stumbled across Super Bowl XLII and stayed up through the night to watch a dramatic Giants victory. Although it was a Giants victory which made me fall in love with the game, for some reason I was drawn to the New York Jets. I cannot pinpoint at all why the Jets appealed to me - they just chose me and I have been a diehard fan from that point. I may be mainly a Jets supporter but I remain an avid fan of the NFL as an entire league. I can regularly be found on a Sunday evening with RedZone playing on my TV whilst the Jets game plays on my laptop! After a few years watching the NFL I was drawn to college football when I switched over to a game whilst I had a free trial of ESPN. My month of ESPN America luckily coincided with Bowl season, and I soon became a fan of College Football as well. The tradition of the 12th Man drew me to Texas A&M, and I am now an equally passionate supporter of both the New York Jets and Texas A&M. In terms of my journalistic career, I am a prominent writer and reporter on a motorcycle sport called speedway, which is relatively large here in the UK. I have spent the last two years working as a reporter, writing match reports for local newspapers, press releases for Official Club websites and programme columns with different clubs. During my time in this role I have been lucky enough to interview some of the biggest names the sport has to offer, from current World Champions to past legends. Whilst I continue to work in this role, I have been keen for some time to branch out into writing about my second passion, American Football. I am lucky to have the opportunity to write here on FanIQ and I hope to use this site as a tremendous platform to lead me to a successful writing career in the future. This site appears to have huge potential as a venture and I am delighted to be involved with such a project even in a small way. I hope that you enjoy reading my contributions over the course of the upcoming season. If you wish to contact me for any reason, either to offer constructive criticism of my work or to simply ask any questions, then please do not hesitate to email me on rich_jones95@hotmail.co.uk Thanks! Rich
