Shit happens folks. Thats the rules of football, the ref´s descision is final. We´ve seen handball goals in the past - Most famous being Maradonna´s "hand of god" goal at the 1986 finals. Did he get banned? No of course not. As the article says, its the officials job to police the game. A handball is not the only way to cheat. Think of diving in the penalty box, calling for the ref to yellow card a player, offside goals, etc etc. No sorry as I am for Ireland, thats the name of the game. Wow, no wonder no one else (like me) can understand the game.................lol Its had so many rule changes. So why was it so brutal in the US, yet here in Europe the game hasn´t changed much?

Yep! Hence the age old saying "The game aint over till the final whistle is blown". But I can understand your thoughts. This game hasn´t really changed much - rules wise - since the 1880s. Which makes it one of the sports that hasn´t been spoilt by modern technology. The Referee´s descision is final, even if he gets it wrong sometimes, but thats soccer and its the same for everyone. Having decsisions being overturned by video replay is just undermining the game in my opinion. But this is an ongoing argument in the world of Soccer, and will probably never end.Yep! Because its the referee that runs the game, which has been the rule before any games such as NFL etc came into being. The ref usually stops his watch for small stoppages, and thats where the injury time comes from, or as the correct term is - "stoppage time". The end of the game is still determined by the referee, even though these days a board is held up to show time added on, the referee only uses it as a guide, he can blow the final whistle anytime he sees fit.Because its the referee that runs the game, which has been the rule before any games such as NFL etc came into being. Ha ha ha................you obviously haven´t watched the Premier League. Its a big sin to fall down and stay down without being really hurt.. I prefer Soccer of course, being English its our National game. But this football you americans talk about seems to me to be a sissyfied game of Rugby. The old stuff might still be there, but it still has the old problems too. Trivia still has the same problems. No comments are allowed anymore. And no thumbs up either. Sports are still there, but the main ones are still those that only interest the USA, where are the other important international sports? The ranking system doesn´t tell me where I am overall, or at least I can´t find it. I was so proud to be in the top 200 in season one, so where am I now??? As for gifts and qbucks, well I have no interest in them, but I won´t knock them either as some people will have fun with it, so thats ok by me. I stuck around when things first started to go down hill. I made suggestions, comments, ideas, contributions etc. And what happened? It got worse. It is now a waste of time to submit trivia questions, because there are no rewards for them now. Since season2 started I have not received a single point, thumbs up, or respect for any of my questions (Which I regularily did before). Since the change I have not had a single "thumbs-up" or "respect" for any of my trivia questions when they earn a five star rating from fans. I used to regulary get about 10 a day. Nope, this not a fun site any more. I joined back in January 2009, and had a great time till the bugs came. First the trivia bug, which still hasn´t been fixed. Then came the banning of comments on trivia, that was great for inter action and friends. Then came this silly season two, which has now taken the rest of the fun away. I have no idea where I rank any more, or at what level. I certainly don´t need another complicated facebook with pretend money and gifts, and fantasy games which don´t interest me.Nope, this not a fun site any more.
