Favorite Players:
(current and past)
Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Dennis Johnson, Reggie Lewis, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, M.L. Carr
Why I am a fan:
I divorced myself from the NBA for about 10 years because I was disappointed with the culture that seemed to emerge after Jordan retired. The drafting of Paul Pierce slowly brought me back to the C's, and when they got a great player and character guy in KG, the love was back.
Favorite Moments:
Winning the title in 2008! Bird vs. Magic anytime. You'll never see a matchup like that ever again.

I'm not going to lie. I was more of a Hartford Whalers fan before they left town. The Bruins are the local team and I support them anytime I can, except when they play Detroit.

Whenever they finally win a Stanley Cup again, and anytime they beat the Montreal Canadiens.

Schools: University of Maine, Strayer University
Relationship Status: Long Term Contract (Married)
Kids: None that I know of.
Occupation: Telecommunications
Companies: It's the one with the guy that wears the thick framed glasses who has a giant entourage, including utility trucks and helicopters. You know who I'm talking about.
Places I lived: Inside the Green Monster where Manny sometimes uses my bathroom.
Greatest Moment in Sports:The Miracle on Ice, Lake Placid, 1980. You can't name a sports moment more historically significant on a global scale in the last 50 years.
Greatest Event in Sports:Super Bowl! March Madness is very close.
Greatest Athlete of All Time:Jim Thorpe. Look it up.
Greatest Coach of All Time:Bill Walsh
Most Fanatical Moment:I drove from Bangor, Maine to Montreal, Quebec and back in one day to watch Curt Schilling (then with Arizona) pitch a complete game 2-1 loss to the Montreal Expos in that crapcan of a stadium on 8/1/2002. He gave up a walk-off HR to Vlad Guerrero and Tomo Ohka got the win. 10,000 fans and neon green astroturf in a stadium that smelled like an old refrigerator. I am currently on a quest to visit all Major League Baseball parks. So far, so good. I've visited 18 as of May 2014. I have also seen, and kissed, the Stanley Cup. Three times.
My Sports Superstitions:I park in the same garage every time I visit Fenway Park. It's located on Ipswich Street about 100 yards from Gate B.
Most Disappointing Sports Moments:Grady leaving Pedro in to pitch in 2003, followed by Aaron Boone's walk-off weenie off Wakefield in extra innings. Wake didn't deserve that.
Fantasy Sports I Play:NFL, MLB
Fantasy Skill Level:Won my league in 2007. Finished in the post season the last seven.
Sports I Play:Baseball, Bowling, Floor Hockey, Football, Softball, Video Games
Nickname:Mr. Scott
Current Skill Level:Right-handed dead-pull power hitter in baseball/softball. I don't strike out much. Played 3B in my younger days then moved to the OF as the knees started to crap out. I can still crush it though. :)
Highest Organized Level:High School/American Legion/AAU baseball. High School football (briefly).
Athletes I've Played With/Against:N/A
Sports Trophies/Awards:Nothing significant.
Career Highlights:Honestly? Little League. In our championship game I struck out the side three consecutive innings in a rain storm with my grandmother watching who was dying of cancer. I was 11 years old but I'll always remember that. She died the following spring. The 350-foot home run I hit in a city softball game when I was 14. Also the time I put three baseballs on the roof of the high school swinging a broken bat in one game when I was in high school.
Career Lowlights:Not making my high school baseball team my senior year due to injury.
Sports Injuries:Being 420 pounds at one time. One giant injury. Being fat and near death.
Games I Usually Attend:Red Sox games at Fenway Park mostly. I've also been to several other MLB parks and try to visit a new one each year in a quest to get to them all.
Greatest Sporting Event I've Attended:A 2OT thriller at the Garden between the Pistons and Celtics in March of '06. Jon Lester's no-hitter at Fenway on 5/19/2008. Nomar Garciaparra's first game with the Red Sox in late summer of 1996. A 2004 interleague game between the Orioles and Giants that saw both Bonds and Palmeiro hit home runs. It was the first time in 37 years two members of the 500 HR club went yard in the same game. That was before we found out everything about those two guys.
Sports People I've Met:I shared a flight home to Boston from Tampa with Mike Timlin. I went to high school with former MLB pitcher Matt Kinney, although I didn't know him well.
Sports Figures from my Hometown:Bill Swift, Matt Stairs, Mike Bordick, Matt Kinney
Most Prized Sports Possessions:My Steve Yzerman Detroit Red Wings jersey and my Jerry Rice rookie card.
Sports Trading Cards:A lot. Enough Shaq rookies to put my kids through college, if I had kids, so instead it'll be my retirement fund.
Athlete Autographs:Autographs don't interest me. I'd rather get a picture and a handshake with the athlete. That's special. You can buy autographs off ebay.
Favorite Sports Collectibles:Jerseys
Dream Sports Job:Color Commentator for anything.
Favorite Jerseys:Terrell Owens (49ers), Priest Holmes (Chiefs), Richard Seymour (Patriots), Brian Dawkins (Eagles), Steve Yzerman (Red Wings), Portland Pirates (Custom, my name and number), University of Maine Hockey (Away and Alternate), Manny Ramirez (Red Sox Sunday Alternate), Curt Schilling (Red Sox Road Gray w/2004 WS Patch)
Favorite Sports Brands:Converse (before they were bought by Nike), CCM, Easton, Adidas, New Balance, Wilson, Lumber Company
Favorite Ballgame Foods:Fenway Franks, Oggi's Pizza from Petco Park in San Diego, Cheesesteaks from Citizens Bank Park in Philly. Nathan's Famous dogs at Yankee Stadium.
Beer of Choice:I don't drink. I know that's a sports fan sacrilege, but I don't. I'll still kick your ass at trivia.
Favorite Sports Announcers:Gary Thorne, University of Maine Class of '74. I'd listen to him announce square dancing. Bob Uecker, Curt Gowdy, Johnny Most, Vin Scully, Al Michaels, Harry Caray, Jon Miller, Ernie Harwell, Mel Allen, Harry Kalas, Joe Castiglione.

Sports Video Games I Play:EA Madden Series, EA College Football Series, EA MLB Series, MLB 2K Series, EA NBA Series, EA NHL Series, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, EA FIFA Series
Video Game Skill Level/ Playing Style:I've been playing Madden since it came out way back on Sega Genesis in 1992. I'd like to think I'm pretty good. I'm pretty old school though. I remember when Tecmo Super Bowl was huge. Best football game ever. I also rule the universe at EA's NHL series.

Teams Mr. Scott Hates
New York Yankees
Why I Hate Them: This should be obvious, being a native New Englander and lifelong Red Sox fan. They are the Evil Empire. They are a collection of hired baseball mercenaries playing for the highest bidder. They play in a cold, cavernous, soul-less ballpark. The Yankees stopped being a classic, storied baseball franchise and became a corporate brand-name in 1973 when George Steinbrenner bought the club.
Players I Hate: Alex Rodriguez, Paul O'Neill, Scott Brosius, Jason Giambi, Karim Garcia, Jorge Posada, Johnny Damon, Joba Chamberlain, Mariano Rivera, and I hate Derek Jeter too, but by god do I respect him.
St. Louis Rams
Why I Hate Them: Because they had a couple of years of good fortune and walk around like their the Steelers of the 1970's. Their stupid touchdown celebrations. Their smug prick coaches like Mike Martz. Yeah I know he's the O-Coordinator of my team now, but he's still a d-bag.
Players I Hate: Most of these guys have new teams. Isaac "I just caught a 3 yard pass, let's celebrate" Bruce, Kurt Warner, world champion grocery bagger, Kevin Curtis, Dane Looker, or any other 9th string undersized wide receiver that looks like Steve Largent in that offense. Oh, and Leonard Little. You should be in prison.
Dallas Cowboys
Why I Hate Them: They're a storied rival of the 49ers. They play in a stadium with a hole in it so "God can watch our football games". They dub themselves "America's Team" even though I can tell you from my past experience with an NFL-affiliated company that the Pittsburgh Steelers are "America's Team" by a mile. Their owner is a smug oil baron with the grin of a shyster and you just want to punch him in the face to see if he'll bleed like a real human or not. No team is more arrogant and overrated as the Dallas Cowboys.
Players I Hate: Michael Irvin. He's an arrogant, phony, racist crackhead and man-whore. His Hall of Fame speech is some of the best acting I've seen in years. His "born-again" act is a pile of crap and he better pray his kids don't end up like him. They probably will. If I were a religous man, I would be insulted.
Philadelphia Flyers
Why I Hate Them: They are one of, if not the dirtiest most bush-league team in the NHL. They can't seem to figure out why their 1970's "Slap Shot" style of goon hockey doesn't get them to the Cup finals. They're based in Philadelphia, city of whiny losers.
Players I Hate: Randy Jones, the felon that almost ended Patrice Bergeron's career. Eric Lindros, Keith Primeau, etc. Ironically, Ron Hextall is one of my favorite goaltenders ever. Flyers still suck!
New Hampshire Wildcats
Why I Hate Them: UNH, short for the University of No Hardware, and their stupid fans from Durham, NH can't win a national hockey title and are an embarrassment to college hockey in New England. The fans can only come up with cheers like "U-N-H! U-N-H!" because they are collectively retarded.
Players I Hate: None. In fact, I love Ty Conklin. Thanks for letting Gustafsson score on you in the 1999 National Championship game in OT.
Massachusetts Minutemen
Why I Hate Them: UMass is located in Amherst, Massachusetts, a forgettable town west of Boston where the students scream "HEY! SOMEONE PAY ATTENTION TO US!" Anytime UMass does anything of minor success in their mediocre sports program, they tend to consume large quantities of alcohol and then set fire to things. Sometimes they even do it when another school wins, like when the UConn Men's and Women's basketball programs won both titles a few years ago. The male species of UMass sports fan tends to think using the c-word towards women in public is completely acceptable social behavior and they travel in groups of 4-5 AXE-deodorant smelling, MMA t-shirt wearing frat boy nancies. Sometimes, if the Rhyphonol hasn't worn off yet, they may have a vacant empty helmet of a girlfriend who apparently has no problem being with a "UMass Minuteman". If their barely average hockey program lucks its way into the Hockey East tournament, you'll find these obnoxious morons in the 300 section of the Garden. Sometimes they find their way into Bruins games as well. Of all the prestigious places of higher learning in New England, this is the absolute lowest common denominator.
Players I Hate: None added yet...
Jeff Gordon
Why I Hate Them: Because he's the corporate man's champion. I'm not the sterotypical NASCAR fan who would throw beer at his car or question if he likes dudes or not, but I can't stand the clean-cut, thank-every-sponsor, pretty boy nonsense in a sport that's supposed to be a little bit hillbilly redneck and have a little grit to it.
