I like the comment Shaq made about what if he and Koby never broke up. He doesn't believe in what ifs. They didn't happen, therefore we will never know. However, on that note, for the fun of it and to prove a point. What if the Bulls never got Cartwright, Pippen and Grant. I think what every says about AI, they would now be saying about Mike. Before the championships, they all said it anyway, that he's a ball hog, gunner, shots too much, etc. I think AI really wants a championship over points or anything else. I think he always have. He's been doing what he thinks he has to in order to get what his heart desires. AI, like every great player, wants to be the King of the Hill. You have to to be. No one said this shit about Bird. Bird stated, in the fourth quarter he is suppose to have the ball. All great players want the ball. Shyne_IV, AI is one of the toughest little men the NBA has seen. I am the toughest. Just kiddin. Seriously though, in the 70s and early 80s, there was a player that use to play with the Houston Rockets. I think he may be a top 50. If not, he should be. His name is Calvin Murphy. If your daddy is a basketball person, ask him about Calvin. I saw Calvin back Jabbar down and many more twice his size. I mean that literally. He was all of 5'9" to 5'11". This is a second opportunity for Rose to cement himself amongst the best playing. He and the Detroit transplant should put on one fabulous performance. Unlike the Lakers, the Nuggets forwards will be a tough group for the Bulls, but not invinci-bull. That mainly due for the most part because of Melo. However, as a rotation, it will fall back on Rose, Salmon and Hinrich to lead the Bulls past Denver. I think the Bulls are feeling Denver. They should have beat them the last game. I think they believe they can. This will probally be their best showing on the trip. This one and the previous one against the Lakers. Although early in the season, these two games are the potential makers or breakers of the Bulls season. Winning at least one of the two, preferrably the Laker game, will carry the Bulls throughout the rest of the season on an emotional high and confident. That will be dangerous, particularly on defense, their true strength. The defense will be their MVP this year. Just wait for Tyrus. The defense will get even stingier and better. So will the offense. Imagine this, Rose, Deng, at guards in a rotation. Add Noah in the middle. Tyrus and the new kid on the block at forwards. Large, fast and stingy with problematic match-up problems for most NBA teams. I like this team. One player away from making a big splash. A Carlos Boozer type will be just fine. Tonight is one of those nights in the NBA. Don't you just feel the electricity in the air. For Koby, just another game. For Rose, a career builder. Koby can't stick Rose. Koby has to stick Salmon. Rose is the question mark for this game. If Rose has a break out game, it will be ugly for the Lakers. The Bulls will match them player for player in the front court. The back court will determine this game. There is no answer to Koby. Koby is already figured in. Rose must step up to win. He is the mismatch player in this game. The Lakers only answer to him is Koby. So, I predict that Salmons and Rose will be the Lakers problem with Hinrich coming off the bench. This is a difficult one. I have seen so many great games. Forgive me MJ, but this one goes to Magic. His rookie year. Played guard, forward and center in a NBA championship series and outplayed everyone with the most magnificent performance on a basketball court that I have ever witnessed. The performance was beautiful. And, it was thought his most beautiful game was between he and Bird: Michigan State v Indiana State, the NCAA championship game the year before. That game goes to Bird. Bird was balling by himself. However, nothing I can think of tops Magic's rookie performance in the final championship game between the Lakers and Philly. This is a difficult one. I don't think it is either, the injury nor the double teaming on defense. Derrick is becoming aware of the reality of his dream. By fate, he landed at home with some large shadows that loom over him every night he goes to work. The ghost of Jordan, Harper, Pippen and even Paxson and others. He has the burden of having to win a championship in United Center, and in his home town. He is the first legitimate hope that has come Chicago's way since the Jordan era to revive the sunk vessel. We must understand that this kid is not a Jordan, Wade or Kobe. He is cut totally different. He seems to nice to be a point guard in the NBA. He moves over for others rather than take complete charge of a game and situations. I think he is just feeling his way into his leadership role. A break out game will cure his ailments. As long as he is tentative about taking control of the floor, he is not going to shine. Great players are selfish. They want the ball. You have to have the ball to become great. Either you have to go get it off the boards or from the opposing players or you have to be the first option from which all other options emanate. He is shying away from the responsibility right now. I don't agree with intimidated, I will say that Rodman was the one they all hated and waited on to mess up in some way. That is why he always led the league in techs or was right there at the top. I am sure that the refs weren't as intimidated as the players. Rodman wreaked havoc on pretty much every player he defended. And the amazing thing is, he stuck guards, forwards and centers alike. I can't remember another player doing that with success. And, Rodman was what, 6'7 or 6'8 and consistently led the league in rebounds. More than Shaq. More than Karl Malone. More than Charles Oakley. More than Olajawon. More than Ewing. More than Jabbar. More than Barkley. Wow, I just noticed something, David Robinson and Tim Duncan were almost neglected in this exclusive list of CENTERS that Rodman has consistently out rebounded. Oh, guess what else I am noticing, they all are top 50 players and centers, with the exception of Oakley. I think enough is said. Well, not quite. Rodman has five rings to show for his work ethics in the NBA. Not one of the above took care of their basketball bodies the way Rodman did his. Olajawon and Duncan puts up a good argument. However, the arguments are close but not quite. Rodman was brilliant in terms of understanding the game. Perhaps, more brilliant than any other player he has ever played with, counting Jordan. However, the original is Kurt Rambis. Even Jordan is not deserving of the nick name. It belongs to someone else. It would be the same as calling Jordan the Doctor. It is still early. However, the Bulls really are right where they want and need to be at this point in the season. That is better than most expected. However, they are feeling themselves. Wins like this one, the Cleveland game, the lost to Denver, the Milwaukee game, they all only toughened the young bulls for the playoffs. They will go to another level with the return of Tyrus, whether off the bench or in the starting line-up. We can count on it. I personally see Tyrus back in the line-up with a strong dependable Taj backing up both, him and Deng. Their advantage over most teams will be their front court defense and rebounding, both defensively and offensively. They will be quicker and more atheletic than most front courts, especially when you add Noah to this mix and rotation. They also will be more physical than given credit for. A James or Wade would put this group over the top. It wouldn't matter which. Either would start at shooting guard. Of course, James would play multiple positions. Rose, James, Noah, Thomas and Deng. That would be like Harper, Jordan, Pippen, Kukoc and Rodman, or at least have a similar effect in terms of Match ups. It is still early. Since I haven't gotten a response, I will pit my best five on the floor together ever against my best five ever. Someone tell me what they think. Jordan vs Jordan -- even Harper vs Magic -- Magic Pippen vs Bird -- Bird Kukoc vs Russell -- Russell Rodman vs Wilt -- Wilt Phil Jackson vs Red Auebach -- Red slightly I am perplexed with this match-up. I wonder how Rodman actually would fair against Chaimberlain or Russell for that matter. I doubt that he would get inside their heads or rebound so well. Actually, it would be interesting to see if he could stand up under their court antics. He would either foul out or tech out of most games played against this crew. They'd trick him as well as out play him. Believe it or not, Chaimberlain would have been a lot different from guarding Shaq. Chaimberlain was stronger, quicker, more atheletic and more dominant. He like Jabaar had a variety of low post moves and ways to score. Plus, he and Russell, that breed of centers lived and died on the boards and with their defense. They had a no non-sense attitude and approach to the game. One or the other would have crushed Rodman. Hands down to the five best players ever. Wow, he lost four series to none versus Jordan. I don't argue that Magic is a class act. I followed him through college and have followed the Lakers since Wilt. The Lakers are actually my second most loved team. As you see, they are second on my list in terms of b-ball. I go back to West, Goodrich, Harriston, Mc Millan and Chaimberlain. I rate Magic as the second best player ever. So that we stay cool, let me explain my best five ever and that should solve any contretempt I may be causing. 1. Michael Jordan, 2. Magic Johnson, 3. Larry Bird, 4. Bill Russell and 5, Wilt Chaimberlain. All Lakers and Celtics with the exception of Jordan. I want to put Jabaar in there, but I have to have Wilt and Russell. Because of his speed and scrambling ability to make plays, he would be excellent for the mediocre offense of the Bears. One or more may just develop under Vick. Cutler is going to get killed back there.

It is unfair to talk about Cutler and/or Fran in same breath with the great Brett Farve. There is no comparison. While I think this article is absolutely correct, Cutler had the ideal situation in Denver for the type of QB he is. Now, he has to elevate his game. In otherwords, now he has to earn stardom, like every other truly great QB has. He won't! He's not made like that. Again, the Bears could really make a franchise move if they somehow acquired M. Vick. Won't he be a free agent next year? He is still young enough to win a few. It is unfair to talk about Cutler and/or Fran in same breath with the great Brett Farve. There is no comparison. I have been a bit down on the Bears and Lovey. I don't think he is the coach for the Bears. He coached well for the Colts in the Bear/Colt Superbowl game. He looked perfect up until that game. After that game, he has been an also ran coach and with mediocre skilled position players on offense. Their defense was their offense. The Bears are still too conservative. Why not bring in a T.O.
