With all do respect... if Vince Young would have started the season and had the same type of protection (or lack of any protection at all that Kerry Collins had to enduer) their is no guarantee that the Titans wouldn't have still been 0-6 and Vince would have probably ended up injured. The simple truth is the O-Line is playing much better now and Vince is the benefactor of that. Is he the better QB for the Titans success? The Titan coaches and management didn't think so..... I guess we will see. But don't just jump on the Vince bandwagon and usher him into the HOF quite yet..... Kerry Collins was a sitting duck in the Titans backfield earlier this season .... Young would have been to!With all do respect... if Vince Young would have started the season and had the same type of protection (or lack of any protection at all that Kerry Collins had to enduer) their is no guarantee that the Titans wouldn't have still been 0-6 and Vince...(more)
IF... and I say IF they lose in the playoffs, I fear it wont be the defense that will be the problem. They seem to have overcome the key losses by having the backups play consistant and the veterans play even better. I fear the replacements at the WR and TE positions will be their downfall. Week after week the rookie WR and TE are costing the Colts from opening up leads that they have enjoyed in the past. Dropped passes and fumbles by Austin Colley and Tom Santi have really kept Colt opponents in games. If the rookie WR and TE's dont step up and start playing somewhat at the level of Wayne, Garcon and Clark...... then THAT could be a problem. The rookie WR's inconsistancies and mental mistakes are what's keeping the Colts from looking like an unbeatable force. The injuries to WR Anthony Gonzalez and TE Gijon Robinson (not the injuries on the defensive side of the ball) are the injuries that are most concerning to Manning and Colt fans.IF... and I say IF they lose in the playoffs, I fear it wont be the defense that will be the problem. Pat... you keep saying the Colts wont fair well in the playoffs and I can't figure out your logic. This is a team that refuses to lose. You dis their defense but they always seem to make the plays that need to be made at crunch time and there just isnt anyone better than Peyton with the game on the line. Just what you want in a SuperBowl team. I think your just still smarting over that loss 2 weeks ago....... and let me remind you it WOULD NOT have mattered if the Pats woulda punted my friend.... same end result.
The Pats are playing better and gave the Colts a good run but their defense and O-line is still very questionable, the Bengals appear to be a team to deal with because of their defense but their offense cant hang with the likes of an Indy or New England ... the ONLY team that concerns me about stopping a Colts return trip to the Super Bowl is San Diego. This team looks like it is really stepping up and starting to look like the team we expected and one to be reckoned with. And they always play the Colts tough. Im hoping they have a brain cramp and trade for Texans K Kris Brown before the playoffs.Pat... you keep saying the Colts wont fair well in the playoffs and I can't figure out your logic. The thing that keeps getting overlooked about the Titans is that the Offensive Line is playing much better the last 4 weeks. Opening holes for Johnson and giving Young time to make plays. Collins didnt seem to have that luxury in the first half of the season. Not to mention the Defensive Line seems to be finding its identity W/O Albert Haynesworth in the middle. It took them longer to do that than the Titans anticipated.
As far as Vince Young .... Don't judge a QB when things are going GOOD..... judge him when he has to battle thru adversity. Young has not had to do that yet in his second go round at the helm of the Titans. The thing that keeps getting overlooked about the Titans is that the Offensive Line is playing much better the last 4 weeks. COCKY? C'mon..... Manning is one the most humble, team oriented and professional athletes of our time. He is one of the most respected role models we have in any amatuer or professional arena. Maybe you should visit the Manning Children's Wing at Indianapolis' St Vincent's Hospital for a true indication of the kinda guy he is. I have followed Manning since he was a freshman at Tennessee and have NEVER heard him say or suggest anything COCKY "EVER". I find your comment just a bit misguided.COCKY? C'mon..... If Richt is as good a coach as I give him credit for being... I would expect him to start Logan Gray at QB (or whoeever he feels will be the QB next year). This would be an excellent opportunity for a young QB to get some invaluable experience against a quality opponent on the big stage.
Its gonna take a miracle for the Dawgs to hang in this one. Another Jets QB turnover for points... this time, a Pick6 off of Mark Sanchez. You think the J.E.T.S. Jets, Jets, Jets regret getting rid of Chad Pennington YET?
Question: What is worse ... the Eagles loss to the Raiders or the Steelers loss to the Chiefs?
Answer: Trick question .... they are both equally PATHETIC and an embarrassment.

The biggest joke of the BCS continues to be that Florida AND Alabama (dispite lackluster performances one after another AND playing incredibally weak opponents) remain on top of the pile. Which makes it a "given" that the winner of the Fla/Ala game gets a shot at a National Championship. Colts and Ravens games are always predicted to be close games that could go either way... and then Peyton comes and scores at will and the Indy defense shuts down the inept Baltimore offense. I expect nothing less today. Colts to embarrass the Ravens at home and put a severe hurtin on their playoff aspirations.

Disappointing, yet expected, loss for the Hoosiers Thursday to Ole Miss. The Hoosiers played like the young inexperienced team that they are. They didn't take care of the ball, didn't play very good perimeter defense and didn't rebound well. They even shot horribly from the field and the free throw line. There were some bright spots in the game. Rivers continues to show he may be the stablizing force for the Hoosiers and they did play a pretty good 2-3 zone at times. The other positive which has always been a staple of Indiana basketball even in its recent downturn is the fact that this team plays hard. They make far too many mistakes but nobody can criticize the effort of the players or coaches. This team just needs some time to develope its identity. The game against Boston U. should help in that endevour. Look for the guards to shoot much better as well as the defense and the rebounding to improve.Disappointing, yet expected, loss for the Hoosiers Thursday to Ole Miss. Bingo SCOTT.... I felt that the race was between Wainwright and Carpenter for the last 4 weeks of the season and I think Carpenter's efforts for his last 5 starts vs Wainwright should have won him the award. If one was to remove either Carpenter or Wainwright from the voting than the other Cardinal pitcher wins the award going away. Lincicum had a great year but IMO it was no more stellar than Vasquez at Atlanta and he should have finished 3rd or 4th in the final vote behind Carpenter and Wainwright.Bingo SCOTT....
