if there were bad calls they were on both ends the spurs werent the only ones not getting calls i mean look at the obvious traveling by Duncan in tha second quarter that was not called and also kobe bryant not goin to the free throw line at all i mean come on theres not that much clean defense in the world

That was an obvious mugging foul.  Sad part was it was not the only non-call of the night.  I was actually looking to see if Tim Donaghy was there wagering making the calls.  Somebody up there in the league office must have decided the Lakers and Celtics haven't met in the finals since waaayyyyy back in ... 2002.  Great, Commish Stern, just go ahead and give the hotel concierge rapist the trophy.

Yes, thank you for the officals who want to see the Lakers and Celtics in the finals....cause I DO TOO!!!! GO LAKERS!!!

That was an obvious foul. It was one of the worst officiated games I have ever watched. Kobe obvious is the same Kobe as always, if he doesnt think that is a foul he just proves to me once again what a selfish player he is. I usually dont complain about officiating in the games but this was one of the worst ever. This series should be 2 to 2 . I will be laughing at them if they get in the finals as Detroit or Boston will crush the Lakers as when the last time the Lakers went to the finals and Detroit annihiliated them. For some reason or another when the Lakers play the Spurs the officials always seem to go for the Lakers. I was a long time Lakers fan until Kobe childish behavior caused them to lose Shaq. Any one knows the reason the Lakers won those championships was because of Shaq. All u have to do is look at the end of this game and see how Kobe does not know what to do with the ball. The best guard the Lakers ever had was Magic Johnson and he truly knew how to win championships.
Was a bad officated game ever. Cause Fischers shoot did hit the rim and the Lakers should had gotten the ball with a full 24 second shot clock. Which would for sure gave the Lakers the win. But the Lakers did win, so I'm not crying about it.....also, as a Lakers fan I always hated Shaq but he did HELPED us win those championship games.

Foul? What foul?
#7 | 546 days ago

What happened the rest of the game is irrelevant to the argument. This 2.1 seconds contains a foul on Derek Fisher.
#8 | 545 days ago

If the other fouls were called it probably wouldnt have came down to that play with 2.1 sec left
#9 | 545 days ago

It's obviously a Foul!!!!  Even a blind person, would call that a FOUL!  The (so-called) Ref's are obviously Lakers fans, wearing striped shirts.  This is an outrage!!!!

During the end of game interview...it figures, Kobe Bryant would say, "no foul", he and his damn lakers stole the game...thanks in LARGE PART to the damn referees.  I hate the Lakers even more.  The series should be 2-2, going back to Los Angeles.  That non-foul call, makes me sick!    Brent Barry, had every right to be upset.  Derek Fisher MADE contact, while Barry was in the act of shooting!

Every time the Lakers win, I here the same old-bullshit! Stern wants them in the Finals or there goes that Rapist....When the Spurs knocked off the Lakers chance at a 4pt in 2003, I felt like never watching basketball ever again. But instead, I rooted for the Spurs to win the Championship, and I watched the entire NBA Finals that year like a true NBA fan should. Sometimes when you cannot control things in life, you just have to accept it and move on....

Has MJ or LeBron James ever played an entire playoff game without being fouled one-time? The Spurs are losing this series because the Lakers came back in Game 1 after being down 20pts. That gave the Lakers the psychological advantage over the Spurs in this Series. They held home-court after winning game 2, and Manu Ginobili took them to school in Game 3. The Lakers were just more hungry to win game 4 than the Spurs were.

The Lakers also should have been shooting FTs with 4 seconds left because the shot-clock should have been reset after the D-Fish shot hit the rim...

The original question didn't ask anything about the calls the rest of the quarter, or the game, or the series. Only what happened in the last 2.1 seconds. If I'm not mistaken didn't the league release a statement saying that Berry should have been shooting two free throws?

Nothing personal gentlemen.

I've got 20-20, and yeah maybe that should've been called. But it doesn't change the outcome of the game or the series. And Barry wasn't shooting. He picked up his dribble and faked Fisher into the air, but wasn't in the process of getting off the shot until after the contact. I bet you were one of those guys who cheered when Horry forearm shivered David West in the lower back, or shoulder blocked Nash into the scorers table.

Got no dog in this hunt, dude.  I don't really care who wins the NBA title, but WOULD prefer that it be a team without some criminal scum on it.  Yes, Basketball DOES cater to the Los Angeles market (David Stern really likes to be on TV, or hadn't you noticed?), and if you don't want to hear about "that Rapist", well, then your boy Kobe should have gone to Eagle, Colorado and demanded a jury clear his name.  He did not; instead Kobe bought his way out of it with Lakers money.  That speaks volumes. Translation: He DID it.  Now, you "accept THAT and move on" and enjoy cheering for a rapist to win you another title out there.

As a loyal San Antonio Spurs fan since 1990,  I admit the Spurs blew a numerous chances of winning this series, in the Western Conference Finals.  I like said before, the poor quality ref's helped the Lakers win this series.  Whoever the Lakers play in the NBA Finals...I hope they get their bottoms whoppped!  As guess, we in the Spurs Nation will have to wait, till the 2008-2009 season starts.

#17 | 544 days ago

No, I don't root or cheer, when an opponent of the San Anotonio Spurs gets knocked down, in away.  You must remember...the game of Basketball is very compeitive and very physical, especially going for a loose ball on the court or going up for a rebound.

I've got "Mad" Respect for the Spurs. They will get younger next year, and then go from there. It's not like the Spurs don't know how to win the NBA Title every other year. 03, 05, 07, 09??? I'm sure the Spurs and Lakers will meet again in the playoffs real soon! I'm just grateful for the moment right now!

Yes, Barry was shooting and he should at the very least ahve gotten 2 free throws to shoot. He was behind the line and really should have gotten 3 free throws to shoot. That would have been a continuation play. Now if it was the Lakers they would have gottne the call but because it was a little known player he didnt get it.

Of course the game was badly officiated. But the question is it was the last play of the game that determined the outcome. Even the NBA had to announce and say they missed the call.

This is a little off the subject but how could u not like ShaQ when he played for the Lakers. He is the reason the Lakers won those titles. Having been a long time Lakers fan myself (although right now I am not because of Kobe, I dont like selfish players) I have seen a lot of great players on thier teams. The Lakers would not have won those titles without Shaq. Most everyone I talked to knew this. I was living in the Southrn California area when they were winning the titles. If Kobe wasnt being so selfish then maybe the Lakers could have kept Shaq and won more titles. But Kobe being Kobe was all about himself. Remember Jerry West was not only a great player but a great GM. Mitch Kupchak just doesnt know what he is doing.

Being a long time Laker fan i understand your comments. I was deeply disappointed in the whole Kobe incident. I do agree he bought his way out of it. unforntunatley most fans don"t  care about the character of thier players, they just care if they win or lose. I stopped watching the Lakers after that and will not root for them until Kobe is gone. I am personally tired of all these players that think they can go out and do whatever and get away with it.

That's some mighty classy comments, Bro!!!  A few more comments like that around here and I'll have to start re-thinking that "lost faith in humanity" position of mine...
