Quite frankly Thompson is an IDIOT. WHEN Rodgers does not perform like they think he will -- they'll be BEGGING Brett to start. He deserves better.

The packers told him we are moving on and he seems to not want to accept his fate and is being defiant. Just retire and keep what respect you have. Its dwindling with every word you utter.

THE MAN HAS A CONTRACT with Green Bay - so he returns to Green Bay, sits his ass on the bench and supports Rodgers every way he can. This is what is job is now and the ONLY way he can regain his status as a professional and as a man.

You can thinking Michael Jordan's career with the Bulls was different... but it wasn't. He never lost his status as a professional or a man, btw -- NOR did I say HE SHOULD NOT return to the Packers. I said WHEN Rodgers FAILS they will beg him to get off that bench and start... and that's when he should tell them where to stick that football... and I sincerely hope he does. And I'm aware the MAN HAS A CONTRACT -- which means he SHOULD PLAY. Last I heard people don't get paid that kind of money TO SIT ON THE BENCH.

I think that most sports fans would agree that Favre does not compare to Jordan. Jordan was the face of the NBA for a long time. Favre was the face of the Packers for a long time. People turned on Bulls games just to see Jordan play. I don't personally think people (other than Green Bay fans) would turn on Packers games just to see Favre. Jordan was responsible in a very large part for the popularity of the NBA during for many years. Favre was not responsible for the popularity of the NFL for a long period of time. There was a BIG difference between their careers.

There is a very good chance he would go to the Vikes or Bears and that could be a disaster for GB. Imagine Favre leading one of them and winning the division. He dug his own hole here. If he had said he would keep playing a few months ago, GB would not have drafted two QB's. Favre put the team in a very bad situation. I like him, but think he is being a typical spoiled athlete right now.

I don't think he'd be that good...then again, I'm being a cynic due to his age and the fact that both Minnesota nor Chicago's front lines pass block very well. I'm not sure, but is Farve a good dome QB? I want to say he is very sub-par on indoor fields, but I don't keep track of that. I agree with your last statement 110%...spoiled and feeling very 'Tori Spelling'-like right now

He admitted it -- gave the reason behind it -- and I agree -- they had to make a decision -- they moved forward. My problem is that they should release him and respect him as a player. Not say hey we don't want you, but we also don't want anyone else to have you. That's the only infuriating thing to me (that and all of this trash talking about Brett).

There was a BIG difference between their careers. +1 It's not the actual comparison of athletes per say... the reason I compared them is because you have a player -- considered ONE of the greats (there were many before Jordan -- though I do love him) -- you have a city that backed them the majority of their career -- they were known not only for their playing skills, but because that was THEIR team. Favre is not responsible for the popularity of the NFL -- but saying Jordan is popular for the popularity of the NBA is ludicrous. Bird, Johnson, Chamberlain? My point was -- their team's embraced both of them -- their fans had a love affair with both of them -- and regardless -- when Jordan flip flopped three times he wasn't getting drug through the mud. Additionally -- I know die hard Cowboy, Patriot, Viking ...actually any team fans that DO tune in to watch Brett Favre.
