Drew Stafford Monster Hit On Duncan Keith During Blackhawks Vs Sabres Game - Video

Drew Stafford Leveled Duncan Keith, But I'm Sure He Deserved It Somehow.

Not a dirty hit, Keith was injured on the play. Stafford, who has 10 penalty minutes, said his hit was a matter of hard back-checking, not an intent to injure. "I hope he's OK. I'm not trying to hurt anybody," Stafford said. "At the same time, you have to keep your head up if you're going to make a play over the blue line like that."

#3 \| 602 days ago biskit67 (+)	The Hawks sure thought it was dirty. They were giving Stafford extra hits and shoves the rest of the game after that. The right team ended up winning the game anyway.

#4 \| 602 days ago Wordsmith (+)	Wow. I know that Stafford is not a dirty player overall. I saw him play many times in the minors. But that was a dirty play, whether he intented to do it or not. The blurb with the video didn't say if he got penalized. He should have gotten 2 min for elbowing at least. If he hadn't raised the elbow, I have no problem with the play.

#5 \| 602 days ago biskit67 (+)	No penalty. Ben Eager jumped him a minute later, and the Hawks had to kill off a 6-minute powerplay. No problem though. Buffalo only managed 1 shot in the 6 minutes.

The result of the play shouldn't matter. If a hit is considered dirty or borderline or whatever it's the same no matter what happens as a result of the hit.
