This photo at 46 seconds of the video hangs on a plaque in my living room - given to me by the local fire department for my support of their efforts to be ready for the next terrorist attack. One of the few gifts I am proud to have received.

I am proud to be a member & the Vice President of my local Fire Dept.s Ladies Auxiliary. Anything to do with 9/11, or our Fire & Rescue Squads hit home for me. I love being able to support, and take care of our guys that are willing to risk their lives for us.

Yes, you would see it at HQ or in the staging areas in Germany or wherever, but when you got back home, and the colors were flying proudly in the breeze, you would tear up and your throat would get dry and tight. You were home! Then you would reflect on what you did, and if you lived up to the expectations of the people you left back home. Then, an inner voice would say..........you did your job, you performed your mission and you came back home! Every person in the military wants to hear that message............MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I did it once, I would gladly do it again if called. Duty, Honor, Country!
