That's not a sport either. ESPN televises spelling bees. Just because it's on ESPN, doesn't mean it's a sport.

 Well, any horse that was at least 90 pounds lighter had been on the move, it would have won. That's why this doesn't count as a win. But you're right. I'd rather tune into ESPN and watch Texas Hold'em. Now there's a sport. Sittin' around a table doing 12 oz curls. Give me a break........

 A horse may cross the finish line in front of every other horse, but without a jockey its not considered a win. Horse racing is a sport that,s made not only by the horses by as well the jockeys, trainers, and most importantly the FANS!!!

 It was wrong to disqualify the horse because there was no jockey on it. ONE it is a HORSE RACE NOT a jockey race. Things happen. Don'y pentalize the horse. If anyone should recieve some counseling it should be the jockey. he was paid to ride the horse. & it was lack of staying on the horse that disqualified the hose. The horse did his part

Calm down. It is a sport to humans who use the horses to win fame and fortune for themselves. But, truth be told for the horses, it is a punishment to be pushed as far as they are. They want to run, don't take me wrong. They just want to run when they want to, not when told to by a race that holds their wants and needs above basic humanity.

 Horse Racing is a sport, in every way. Both the horse and the jockey are trained athletes, they train constantly to maintain wind ,muscle tone and agility. It is a team sport, if that horse and rider are not in sync, they are not going to win, because they would be working against each other. Ever try to make 1500 lbs of solid bone and muscle go somewhere it didn't want to go. Try it some time. Also the whole concept of a speed contest  implies "Sport", racing in and of itself is sport, be it cars, motorcycles, people or horses. It may not be to every ones' taste, but that doesn't make it any less a sport.
